lady mohawks shoot for THIRD CONSECUTIVE 20 win season
On Thursday, October 25, The Lady Mohawks season came to an end with a loss to Springfield (Lutheran) in the Edinburg Regional. Lutheran came in ranked #1 in the Kincaid Sectional to Morrisonville's #6, and had just beaten us badly a week earlier. The Lady Mohawks really rose to the occasion on what would be the Senior's last night of volleyball together and gave the Lady Crusaders a scare in game one (21-25) before going down to defeat in game two (8-25). The Lady Mohawks finished their season at 22-13, besting their initial goal of a third consecutive 20 win season. Congratulations to the four Senior athletes (Paige Wells, Stacy Forbes, Alicia Schneider, and Molly McWard) for your work ethic in the pre-season. A 20 win season would not have been possible without your efforts. To the returning members of the Lady Mohawks for next season, you have the challenge of continuing the winning tradition of 20 wins. To do this, you will need to get better in all facets of your game, particularly serving and hitting. With the same effort that this year's team gave, it can be accomplished; and we hope that all the fans enjoyed the excitement that all of the players brought to the volleyball court this year. Best of luck to the boy's basketball team and Coach Graven as we give way to the winter sports, and we hope that they can enjoy the success that our volleyball team has enjoyed. |
