The Morrisonville Fellowship of Christian Athletes is sponsoring a collection of items to aid in the relief effort for victims of the Haitian earthquake. The two week drive will focus on collecting items to create personal health kits, with final collection and assembly of the kits set as part of the annual SuperBowl Rally on February 7th. The drive will be a part of a program sponsored by the United Methodist Church. All Jr and Sr High students are encouraged to drop off items from the list below in the bins located in front of the school and PE offices. Kits will then be taken to Chatham where they will be delivered to relief organizations in Haiti for distribution. Members of the community may also provide items by delivering them directly to the school or sending them with a student.
Emergency Kit Contain: 1 Hand Towel
1 Wash Cloth
1 Comb
1 Nail file or fingernail clippers (No emory boards or Toenail Clippers)
1 Bath size bar of Soap (3 oz and up)
1 Toothbrush (single brush only in wrapper, no child sizes)
6 Adhessive plastic strip sterile bandages

Morrisonville’s High School Spring Play will be performed on March 12th & 13th at 7:00 PM in the Morrisonville Grade School All-Purpose Room. “Non-Musical” is a light hearted parody of Disney’s High School Musical. Tickets can be purchased at the door on the day of the performance ., Adults tickets will be $4 and children 12 and under will be $2.

The Morrisonville Jr & Sr High Band & Chorus conducted their Winter Concert on Wednesday, December 2nd in the High School Gym. The concert featured five songs from the combined Jr & Sr High Band and six vocal presentations by the Mohawk Jr-Sr High School Choir. Jason Fixsal won $100 in the First National Bank Half Time shootout at the Morrisonville Homecoming Game last Friday. First National sponsors the half-court shootout at all Mohawk home games. He seemed almost embarrassed to claim the the prize after hitting the shot, but warmed up to it a bit a later, refusing to share his good fortune with friends at the concession stand. Congrats Jason! |

The 8th grade Lady Tomahawk Basketball team won their regional championship game on Thursday, Dec. 3rd against Pana St. Pat team. They will play again next Wednesday, December 9th in the Springfield Calvary Sectional at 6:00 against Springfield Christian. Good luck girls and way to go on your regional championship!

Morrisonville Junior/Senior High School has recognized Junior High Student, Bobby Hylton and High School Students, Rickey Shipman, Robert McCauley and Kirsten Montgomery as the recipients of The American Citizenship Award.
The American Citizenship Award recognizes outstanding service, leadership, responsibility, character, and discipline. There are no "official" criteria for the American Citizenship Award. Principals bestow the award on students who: participate in school and/or community service, show a positive attitude toward classmates, school, and community, display an understanding and appreciation of civic responsibility, possess strength of character and the courage to do what is right, and promote citizenship with their school or community through other activities.
