To become a member of the Mohawk Century Club, a player must record a career total of 100 or more in any one or more of the following categories: hits, runs, rbi, and stolen bases and strike outs (pitchers). There are 4 levels of the club, Singles for those attaining 100 in single category, Double for accomplishing the feat in two categories, Triple for three categories, and Home Run for all four. Achieving membership demands that a player be an outstanding performer for multiple years at the varsity level, and is nearly impossible without a strong supporting cast of teammates. Rod Smith is the only player with 200 in any one category (he also holds the state record for career RBI), while James Whalen holds the distinction of being the only player to hit the century mark on both the pitching and hitting side (he tied the state record for runs scored in a season). It must be noted that reaching the 100 plateau was far more difficult for Mohawk players prior to the reinstatement of the baseball program in 1991 because schedules contained far fewer games (prior to IHSA relaxation of schedule restrictions). Anyone aware of players who should be included should contact the school.
